ce、ci 、cy

c 可發 /k/ 或 /s/ 的音。
當c的後面跟著 e、i、y；c 發 /s/ 的音〔ce、ci 、cy 的 c 發 /s/ 的音〕。

• ce（在頭）：cell, cent, center, certify, celery, cease, celebrate, cement
• ce（在尾時，e 不發音）：choice, dice, twice, ice, nice, rice, mice, price, slice, spice, ace, face, pace, space, lace, place, trace, grace, brace, prince, prance, since, mince, dance, fleece ～ 有些例子同時也包含了字母發音規則〔a_e、e_e、i_e、o_e、u_e 因“magic e”而發第一個母音的長母音〕
• ci（ci的i通常為短i，但偶而也可以是長i）：civil (short i), cinema (short i), cinder (short i), cider (long i)
• cy（cy的y發長音或短音的 i）：cynic (short i), cyst (short i), cyber (long i), cycle (long i)
