Christmas (Xmas)

聖誕節是為了紀念耶穌基督的誕生。

Thomas Jefferson (傑佛遜 1743 – 1826) , 美國第三任總統, 在他 77 嵗時製造了一本他心目中的聖經。他找了幾個不同的聖經版本，有希臘文，拉丁文，法文，英文，何況不同譯本有些出入。每個版本都買2本，因為要剪貼用 (一頁有2面)。他剪貼到空白紙上，然後找裝訂工裝訂成一本皮面精裝本。他並沒有公開他做的這件事情，因爲用刀切割聖經好像有點大逆不道，會引起批評。所以又叫這本聖經為傑佛遜的秘密聖經。是後來有博物館的人在文件中發現有個句子提到這本他的私人聖經，去找傑佛遜的後人，傑佛遜的後人就把這本傑佛遜聖經及其中2本被切割過的聖經捐給了博物館。在傑斐遜聖經中，沒有天使或惡魔。他完成了這本聖經後，不是把它束之高閣，而是用來自己讀，經常（或天天？）閲讀。博物館得到這本傑佛遜的私人聖經時書紙已經非常脆弱，花了好些心力來延長它的壽命。現在世面上有發行這本傑佛遜聖經；Thomas Jefferson's Bible 或叫 The Jefferson Bible。

牽牛花 (英文名為 “morning glory”；日本名為“朝顏”)
牽牛花名稱由來有兩個說法： （1）田野人牽牛謝藥：農夫服用牽牛花種子治好病，牽著自家的牛到牽牛花的地方謝恩；（2）牽牛花花朵內有星形花紋，花期又與牛郎織女星相會的日期相同，故稱之。
